Rhetoric

Today I have been sitting in the sun studying for my Rhetoric exam and I have learned:
  • The Gettysbury adress took Lincoln 135 sek present
  • Under the election campain Douglas called Lincoln "a rawboned, shamble-gaited, bow-legged, knock kneed, pigeon-toed, slob-sided, shapeless skeleton in a very tough, very dirty, unwholesome skin" and "a long, lean, lank lantern jawed, high cheek-boned, spavined, rail-splitting stallion". If the americans where as creative today, I would have looked foreward to the election in US this fall, would have been truly entertaining! :D
  • In old Rome a man who caught another man in bed with his wife was alowed to kill this man. Because seducing another mans wife was so bad, the old romans viewed this as perfectly reasonable. The wife of course had no blame whatsoever.
  • Some of the old european beggar munks preached naked with their robe on the head to get the audience attention.

And the reason I take this paper is because uni demand that I have two non technical papers to get a wider perspective. I think I go jogging insted now...
